As awareness is increasing, many people are starting to come into their own power, feel the fullness of their authentic selves and realize their potential. There is an opening of the door to greatness. Then what often happens is a quick shutting of the door out of fear, disbelief and a sense of "Who am I to be great?" and "I am not better than anyone else, so how can I be big?" In my meditation today, as I connected with the angels, they gave me this message, "Greater than and Equal to."

When you are greater than, for example, being more: insightful, expert, musical, pure, loving, artistic, faster, stronger, beautiful, down to earth, abundant, aware, connected, or you name it, you are still equal to everyone else.

In the presence of those that you feel are greater than you, remember that you are not less than. And in the presence of those to whom you are greater than in that moment, remember that they are never less than. They are equal.

Even Jesus talked about other people being his brothers and sisters.

I encourage you to live your greatness and be the powerful light being that you are. When you do this with authenticity, you do not threaten others or make others feel small. Instead, your light shines so brightly that others are able to see their own greatness. This raises the vibration of all, in a community of people all made from stardust and in the essence of the divine.

<![CDATA[What Are You Feeding Yourself?]]>Mon, 30 Mar 2015 01:40:09 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/what-are-you-feeding-yourselfThere are so many diets and advice about the food that we eat. I believe that nutrition is very important. However, I think that other energies that you feed yourself may be overlooked. Thoughts and words are energy as well, and they can have a big impact on the health of your energy on all levels, including how you feel emotionally and physically.

So when you think and talk to yourself, what are you saying? Is it a steady diet of encouragement, validation, compliments and love? Or is it a variety of junk food type thoughts that include criticism, doubt, and perhaps even punishment? When you eat right and take care of your body, you expect to feel good. So why do so many people expect to feel okay after repeated portions of self-cruelty? Most people would respond strongly if someone said that they beat someone else up. Why do many people listen with acceptance when they hear someone say , “I beat myself up? I think that it’s because so many people do this. Sometimes people think that they will "learn" if they punish themselves. I believe that holding yourself responsible for your actions, and addressing your mistakes with love and forgiveness increases the likelihood of truly learning and giving you the energetic support to make any changes that you need to make.

Just as you may reach for the fruit and vegetables when you are on your path to health, remember to reach for more loving thoughts as well. Remind yourself that you expect to be treated with the same grace that you give others, from yourself. And know that when you feed yourself love, you will be satiated and full…full of life!
<![CDATA[Never Leave Unchanged]]>Mon, 12 Jan 2015 00:09:41 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/never-leave-unchangedThis week I was talking to an Oncology Social Worker about the plan for me to do a Women's Empowerment presentation and Chakradance demonstration for a large group of Breast Cancer survivors, their families and their professional support team. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share spiritual and energetic concepts and experiences to empower them on their journey. However, I expressed concern that perhaps some of the traditionally trained/ western medical staff may be a little uncomfortable with some of these metaphysical/ eastern ideas. Her answer to me was this: "Do you know what would be worse than some people feeling uncomfortable? It would be if someone were to leave unchanged."

Those were wise and powerful words. It resonates with me deeply. And I share it with you in the hope that it will ring true for you as well. So many of you who are reading this are Lightworkers. This means that you bring the light, you bring love and healing, and the work you do empowers people to change their lives. I also know that so many lightworkers struggle with feeling good enough to share their wisdom and skills. We also want people to feel comfortable. But you know what? Change is not always comfortable. And if we came to this earth to change it for the better, then it is likely that a few feathers will get ruffled in the process. It reminds me of the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, "Well-behaved women rarely make history."

So whenever there is discomfort or fear of not being accepted when we share our light, remember the reason that we came here. I am grateful every day for how my life has changed and continues to transform because of gifts that have been shared with me. And by the way, this sometimes entails a loving kick in the butt from dear friends who push me to move beyond my comfort zone. And I need to pay this forward and invite you to do the same. Don't leave this earth unchanged. And for the people that want so much to be empowered by your gifts, never leave them unchanged.
<![CDATA[Crowning Glory]]>Sun, 30 Nov 2014 23:17:57 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/crowning-glory
What is your crowning glory? Is it your appearance? Your intelligence? Your loving heart?

When I think about being the best version of myself, in any situation, I am able to imagine what that may be like by getting in touch with my crown chakra. The crown chakra, located at the top of your head, is your energy center that is your spiritual connection. It is where you find meaning and transcend the physical. During the process of letting go of earthly attachments, you naturally connect to a higher consciousness. If you have meditated regularly, it is very likely that you know what I am talking about. The experience is often light and deep at the same time. It is immensely peaceful and can be described as bliss. In this state, there is no feeling of lack or wishing for more. It is, just as it is.

Even when you need to be consciously functioning with daily tasks, you can still allow your spirit to connect in this way. Use your breath, be mindful, close your eyes, bring your attention to the top of your head, and set your intention to connect to the best version of yourself, to your higher self, to greater consciousness, to divine. Breathe deeply again and open your eyes. Notice how your perception changes. When truly connected, you may notice that the peace that you feel is your crowning glory.

<![CDATA[Gratitude]]>Sun, 23 Nov 2014 22:31:06 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/gratitudeHave you heard the phrase, "What you appreciate, appreciates"? It makes sense. Whatever you put your attention on, in a high vibrational way, increases. If you want more loving relationships, appreciate those that you have now. If you want more peace, focus on the peaceful moments. If you want more prosperity, notice all that you have right at this moment. Not only does gratitude increase the flow and growth, but it brings you joy, almost instantaneously, the second you begin to feel grateful for something.

About those things that you don't want in your life: If you have thought about it, processed it, learned from it, etc., just release your attention from it. As your focus is maintained on what you love and wish to grow, you will find yourself noticing less about the other things. Which of course, just makes it easier to appreciate once again.

I wish to express my immense gratitude to all of you who read my weekly blogs. It is a joy and an honor to share with you! May you and your loved ones have a blessed Thanksgiving! With love, Susan

<![CDATA[Heart Health]]>Mon, 03 Nov 2014 02:04:06 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/heart-health
We so often hear about all the things we need to do, to keep our physical heart healthy. We know that if we eat a healthy diet, exercise, and manage stress, we are likely to keep our heart functioning well. This is good for all of your energy centers, including your heart chakra. So, what else can you do to keep the energy of your heart chakra open and balanced?

Since the heart chakra resonates with the energy of love, you may want to explore this in your own life. Of course you want to love yourself and others. It's that simple but it's also extremely powerful. Have you ever noticed how two people can say the same thing, but for some reason one of them felt better? Have you ever gone to a caring health care provider and felt better just by the conversation? Or felt worse just by the conversation from someone who seemed disinterested? I have learned many different psychotherapy techniques to help people over the years. What I found (and what research has confirmed) is that it is not the specific technique that makes the most difference. Instead, it is the therapeutic relationship. In other words, it is the energy of love and positive regard that ultimately helps people to heal and move forward in their lives. I have found that when adding energy work to the therapeutic discussions that people heal even faster and in profound ways. We are on the way to having clear scientific evidence about the impact of the energetic interventions. In the meantime, I believe that by channeling high vibration energy for someone, we are allowing this high vibration energy (otherwise known as love) to directly impact the person's energy field. Love heals.

So what gets in the way? It is usually fear. Fear that if you open your heart, you will open yourself to pain. Fear that if you forgive others, it will leave you feeling powerless. Or fear that if you forgive yourself, you will never learn. The truth is that forgiveness of yourself and others is empowering. When you are in the fullness of love, you experience the highest and most powerful vibration of energy.

Loving and forgiving yourself is one of the best heart health tips that I know!

<![CDATA[The Fire Within]]>Mon, 27 Oct 2014 00:24:13 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/the-fire-within Do you experience the fire within yourself? If you have an open solar plexus chakra you are in touch with this fire, this passion, this motivation to take action and move ahead. So many people are taught from an early age to deny their own power. They are taught to respect authority figures, sometimes simply because the person is in this position. When this continues, it is difficult to stay in touch with who you really are. Some people respond by rebelling against authority and some by blindly following those in charge. Neither of these reactions is grounded in the authentic self. Some are afraid to be who they are in the world because others will see them as trying to take over, or judge them in another way. You can be big, proud, assertive and living in your power without the need to take power away from someone else. In fact, being authentically empowered means that you are experiencing the fire within yourself, taking that energy, and making an impact And when you take action from a place of being centered and connected, you not only help yourself, but your flame lights up the world!

<![CDATA[The Pleasure Principle]]>Mon, 20 Oct 2014 00:23:04 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/the-pleasure-principle If the pleasure principle suggests that people always seek pleasure and avoid pain, then why are so many people avoiding pleasure? In my experience, most people who avoid pleasure are doing so as a means to avoid what they experience as painful. There may be vulnerability and often guilt for self-nurturing when they feel a responsibility to take care of others. However, it is often those people who allow themselves pleasure and even accept or embrace their vulnerability that are often the happiest. And from that higher vibration, they are often better friends, spouses, parents and workers.

The sacral chakra relates to the energy of pleasure, sexuality, emotions and flow. Opening the sacral chakra challenges you to go with the flow of life, to deeply connect with others, enjoy your sexuality and your sensuality, tap into your creativity and experience the fullness of your emotions. As this chakra is related to emotions and connection, it is said that clairsentience (feeling things beyond the physical) is often experienced from this chakra. This is an intuitive gift. However, it is helpful to be mindful and grounded (allow the energy of your root chakra to help you with this), so that you can be clear about what energy is yours and what energy belongs to someone else.

Here are a few things that you can do to open and balance your sacral chakra: Do pleasurable activities that stimulate your senses (watch a sunset, breathe in the smell of the ocean, take a luxurious bath, dance, enjoy healthy sexual experiences). Surround yourself with beauty (colors, flowers, art, etc). And let go. Let go of guilt, let go of the emotions of others that you may be carrying, and release anything that is lowering your vibration. Embrace the pleasure principle, open yourself to joy and experience the sweetness of life!

We will also be doing meditative movement with music and guidance that resonates with the Sacral Chakra in Chakradance. This is the Dance of Sensuality. To learn more or participate in this class experience, visit www.meetup.com/Chakradance-with-Susan

<![CDATA[Reclaiming Your Root]]>Tue, 14 Oct 2014 00:22:04 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/reclaiming-your-root
You may expect this to be a blog about ancestry. Perhaps it is, in a way. It's about your heritage of being a human being. About having a physical body and being connected to the earth.

Your root chakra is your energy center located at the perineum that has to do with your physical survival and grounding. When your root chakra is open and balanced, you feel still, secure and stable. Have you ever described someone in root chakra terms? Perhaps you said, "She's really grounded" or "He has his feet firmly planted on the ground." How do you feel around these people. It's likely that you feel calm and secure. A person who is grounded is connected to mother earth and is connected to his or her instincts, which is something we all share. When you are experiencing your root, you naturally experience the moment, your body, your sense of knowing that you belong on this earth at this time. In fact, you have a right to not only be here, but a right to create and have and experience what you have created in your physical reality. Did someone say manifesting? Yes! From a healthy place of connection, your open root chakra helps you to manifest abundance in this physical plane of existence.

There is so much that you can do to open and balance your root chakra. Here are just a few: Spend more time in nature, do physical activities, feel your feet firmly rooted in the ground, eat mindfully, release fear, and affirm that you are safe and abundant (not only with words, but with the energy of belief as well). Experience your body and who you are connected to the abundant and nurturing mother earth at this time. By doing this, you reclaim your energy and your root.

We will also be doing meditative movement to the energy of the Root Chakra with Chakradance. It is the Dance of Mother Earth. To learn more or participate in this class experience, visit www.meetup.com/Chakradance-with-Susan

<![CDATA[Coming Out of the Dark Ages]]>Sun, 28 Sep 2014 22:17:50 GMThttp://susanmelchione.com/blog/coming-out-of-the-dark-ages
I don't know of anyone who believes that they are living in the dark ages. You may hear someone say that they are "old school," but that's usually as far as it goes. And that's definitely not the same thing. It just feels like your perspective is the way things are. We tend to continue to repeat our thoughts and beliefs until we have an experience that creates a shift.

Take a moment and think about one belief that has changed in your life. If you are struggling with this, just think about how you saw the world as a child, and how you see it now. I bet that you have had more than one "Aha" moment in your life. The light bulb goes on, and you didn't even know that you were living in the dark. This is happening with so many people and their spiritual beliefs and connection at this time. Some call this a time of enlightenment, or a new era of spiritual awakening. Increasingly people are feeling their personal connection to Spirit /the Universe / Higher Power, and to each other in a new and powerful way.

As wonderful as this is, people have often told me that this new feeling of connection has actually left them feeling isolated. Usually this is when the person is surrounded by family, friends and coworkers who are still living in the dark ages with their beliefs. And they are not ready or interested in opening the door to something new. When this happens, it is possible to maintain your joy by going inward and connecting in that way. But it is also greatly eased and celebrated by being part of community. You can do this in so many ways. You can join various groups or faith communities, or you can simply partake of activities, events and other gatherings where you are in the presence of people who are interested in expanding and sharing the light.

If you experience yourself coming out of the dark ages, see if you can share with people who are on a similar journey. You will find that together, your light shines more brightly!
