This week I was talking to an Oncology Social Worker about the plan for me to do a Women's Empowerment presentation and Chakradance demonstration for a large group of Breast Cancer survivors, their families and their professional support team. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share spiritual and energetic concepts and experiences to empower them on their journey. However, I expressed concern that perhaps some of the traditionally trained/ western medical staff may be a little uncomfortable with some of these metaphysical/ eastern ideas. Her answer to me was this: "Do you know what would be worse than some people feeling uncomfortable? It would be if someone were to leave unchanged."
Those were wise and powerful words. It resonates with me deeply. And I share it with you in the hope that it will ring true for you as well. So many of you who are reading this are Lightworkers. This means that you bring the light, you bring love and healing, and the work you do empowers people to change their lives. I also know that so many lightworkers struggle with feeling good enough to share their wisdom and skills. We also want people to feel comfortable. But you know what? Change is not always comfortable. And if we came to this earth to change it for the better, then it is likely that a few feathers will get ruffled in the process. It reminds me of the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, "Well-behaved women rarely make history."
So whenever there is discomfort or fear of not being accepted when we share our light, remember the reason that we came here. I am grateful every day for how my life has changed and continues to transform because of gifts that have been shared with me. And by the way, this sometimes entails a loving kick in the butt from dear friends who push me to move beyond my comfort zone. And I need to pay this forward and invite you to do the same. Don't leave this earth unchanged. And for the people that want so much to be empowered by your gifts, never leave them unchanged.
